The Academy of Continuing Legal Education presents a program June 1, 2018, Friday. This 6.5 hour program will provide information on State and Local Government Management of Coastal and Watershed Land and Water Resources, including local zoning and building requirements and public - private partnership approaches, for 4.0 hours of environmental law, This program will also include 2.5 hours of Professional Conduct CLE. This program is anticipated to be approved by the Supreme Court of Ohio, Office of CLE, for 4.0 hours of general CLE and 2.5 hours of Professional Conduct credit. For those licensed in other professions, a Certificate of Attendance is available which an attendee may use to apply to other licensing agencies. A portion of this program is co-sponsored by the College of Architecture and Environmental Design of Kent State University, which may apply for American Institute of Architects CEU and possibly American Society of Landscape Archtiects CEU,

(proposed) Local Government Land Use Practices Affecting Water Quality
Coastal Management in Lake Erie - Challenges and Opportunities, presented by Dr. Scudder Mackey, Chief of Coastal Management of Ohio Department of Natural Resources. This comprehensive presentation discusses State of Ohio programs to guide economic activities in the Lake Erie watershed so as to promote the long term benefits of Ohio's resources. This one-hour portion of the program is co-sponsored by the College of Architecture and will be presented at the Cene Lecture Hall at the College, at 7:10 PM.
The mandatory "Professional Conduct" two-and-one-half hour requirement is presented, in two morning sections of 60 minutes and 90 minutes, by Linette M. Stratford, Esq., Chief Assistant Prosecuting Attorney of the Mahoning County Prosecuting Attorney. Ms. Stratford is an adjunct member of the faculty of Youngstown State University, where she teaches classes in Ethics for business students. Ms. Stratford's first, 60-minute, session will discuss "Ethical Considerations for Attorneys Representing County, Township, and Local Government Agencies." The second, 90-minute session, will discuss "Disciplinary Issues for Attorneys Who Hold Public Office".

Price for the six and one-half hours of CLE is $225.00, being $34.62 per credit hour, for registrations paid by May 21, 2017. Late registrations, received on or after May 22, are $250.00, to cover the expense of reproducing additional sets of the course materials at an expedited cost.
A discounted fee, for Early Registration ONLY, is available for attorneys and water-quality professionals representing small-county and small-city or village governments, described online here.
The Registration fee includes electronic reporting of CLE attendance to the Supreme Court of Ohio, Commission on Continuing Legal Education. A certificate of Attendance will be provided without additional charge, if an attendee requests, to enable that attendee to individually apply for credit for attending this program with any other State or agency, If an attendee requests that the Academy communicate with another agency, there is an administrative charge of $50.00 per other State or agency for which communications or documents are requested.
