
The Academy of Continuing Legal Education presents a seminar September 11 and 12, Thursday and Friday. Classes totaling 14.5 hours of CLE credit will be presented, including "Mediation", presented by Joel Sacco, Esq., presently a mediator in Cuyahoga County and a former magistrate of the Cuyahoga County Domestic Relations Court; "Property Division Issues" presented by John A, Demer, Esq., former Adjunct Professor of Law, Case Western Reserve University; "Child Support Calculation for Low-Income Parties" and "Allocation of Responsibility for Marital Debt for Financially-Distressed Parties", both presented by Diane Palos, Magistrate of the Cuyahoga County Domestic Relations Court, "Alternative Dispute Resolution Procedures" presented by Magistrate Palos and representatives from the association for Principled Family Advocacy. Also included are one hour each of Ethics and Professionalism. There will be an optional substance abuse video at no additional charge. The seminar General Outline is available here. It is anticipated that the Office of CLE will certify the seminar for fourteen and one-half hours, including one hour each of Ethics and Professionalism, and one-half hour of substance abuse.
The seminar location is the Kalahari Resort, in Sandusky on Route 250 between the Ohio Turnpike and Route 2. A limited number of guest rooms have been made available at a group rate. Price for the fourteen and one-half hours of CLE is $420.00, being $30.00 per CLE credit hour with the SA free. A reduced rate of $350.00, being $25.00 per CLE credit hour, is available for attendees who represent government or non-profit agencies, and for members of the Academy.
No provision is available for registration for less than the full 14.5-hour block. Attendance will be monitored in compliance with the rules provided by the Ohio Supreme Court. For additional information on registration, email AcademyofCLE@aol.com.
