
The Academy of Continuing Legal Education presents two one-day programs August 12 and 13, 2008. Classes with 6.5 hours of CLE credit will be presented in each program, including "Statutory Authority and Responsibility of Judges of Election", a panel presentation by County Board of Election officials (Portage County on Tuesday, Cuyahoga County on Wednesday), and Brian Shinn, Esq., and Brian Green, Esq., both Election Counsel, Ohio Secretary of State; "Statutory Authority and Responsibility of Election Observers and Media", by Mr. Green, "Attorney Ethics Issues in Election Law Proceedings", by Mr. Shinn, Esq., also a former assistant Disciplinary Counsel; "Code of Ethics for Election Officials" presented by Mr. Shinn, and an optional 30-minute Substance Abuse video. The August 12 seminar location is Ralph Regula Conference Center at The North East Ohio Universities College of Medician, ("NEOUCOM"), Rootstown, Ohio, on State Route 44 immediately south of Interstate Route 76, Exit 38A. The August 13 seminar location is the Red Rock Inn, Bedford Heights, Ohio, on Rockside Road at the exit from Interstate Route 271 and Interstate Route 480.
Price for either presentation of the 6.5 hours of CLE is $200.00, being $30.00 per credit hour. A discounted price of $125.00 is available for attorneys who will be serving as Precinct Judges at the general election of November 4, 2008.
